My name is Joy and I am a Spiritual Director (what is that?)
Hi there - thanks for checking out this post!! My name is Joy and I am a recent graduate with Soulcare.ca and interning as part of my post grad, and supervision year. I am sharing my bio with you, as can be seen on their webpage.
Joy is thankful for the privilege to accompany others in the journey of spiritual direction. She offers the gift of deep listening and a warm and caring presence for others. She has years of experience in pastoral and retreat work and knows the importance of creating a safe space for people to share their story. She believes that holding space in Spiritual Direction is about being present, listening deeply, experiencing the presence of God and the gift of sacred ground. She feels that when someone shares, it is like being given the greatest treasure, and sees it like a piece of pottery that has gold filling in all the cracks, making the pottery beautiful and priceless. Holding space for others acknowledges the work involved in a person journeying in and down inside their soul, a deep work that involves vulnerability, courage, trust and the gift of companionship. Joy is an interning graduate with Soul Care Spiritual Direction program and is looking forward to continuing on in such a sacred path with others. She and her husband of 47 years live outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She enjoys experiencing God in the beauty of creation and through the wonderment of her grandchildren. She is able to meet in person or virtually. You can connect with Joy through email at holding.space.sd@gmail.com
